Description


• Understand the Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes, technical standards and statutory requirements as they affect the contract and ensure that the requirements, as applicable within their discipline, are implemented on the project. • Provide operational and functional management advice to influence the design and construction team on the practical implementation of contract policies and processes. Provide assurance to senior management team, communicating all key risks and relevant information as necessary to ensure sound environmental management across the contract. • Provide sustainability specialism support to the commercial team, working closely with Procurement and Supply Chain Management to drive sustainability agenda through the supply chain and everything we procure. • Accountable for ensuring awareness for, and delivery against contract targets, particularly reducing Carbon and full lifecycle impacts, driving circular economy initiatives and striving to achieve BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating through continuous management, incorporation of requirements and evidence collection. • Manage members of the core Environmental Sustainability Team and ensure collaboration and team work across the contract. Work closely with the design house and their specialists to deliver required sustainability considerations into the design, including BREEAM, climate change adaptation and resilience, circular economy, carbon, material efficiency and design for deconstruction. • Ensure works are in line with the Carbon Management System, aligned with PAS 2080, driving carbon and whole life impact aligned with cost when making decisions. Monitor and report against performance against targets and drive innovation and continuous improvement throughout the contract team.


Eligibility Criteria


• Environmental and sustainability management experience in the construction industry on large infrastructure projects or equivalent, comparable industry/projects. Experience in wider sustainability topics including carbon, climate change and circular economy and material efficiency. Experience and knowledge of sustainable materials and technology would be advantageous. • Chartered Environmentalist, Full Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) or equivalent, and experience with sustainability assessments such as BREEAM and/or CEEQUAL. • Excellent organisation, communication and time management skills. Project management and commercial awareness skills. • Demonstrates a passion for the Environment and Sustainability, driving innovation and an ability and desire to positively influence and develop those around them
