Find the job that will boost your career

King's Cross Construction (KXCSC) is the London Borough of Camden's flagship Skills Centre, and has been operational since June 2004. The Centre specialises in offering training, apprenticeship and employment advice and opportunities to individuals embarking on or furthering a career within the construction industry.

A number of major construction developments are currently underway in and around King's Cross and Camden as a whole. One of the largest is the development at King's Cross Central currently being developed by Argent, and regarded as one of the biggest mixed-use construction developments in London. This development is set to have a major impact on the economic infrastructure here in London and is expected to generate significant benefits, via job and training opportunities, for both Camden and Islington residents.

Training and employment opportunities will be delivered through the Centre, which will provide a robust, employer-led recruitment model, matching skillsets to the requirements of the contractors and sub-contractors on King's Cross Central, as well as other developments across the London Borough of Camden.

Our team of highly professional training and recruitment specialists proactively engage with a wide range of employers, developers, main contractors and sub-contractors working on these projects, in addition to the strong links that already exist with Argent and their four main contractors: Bam, BamNuttall, Carillion, and Kier. This ensures that KXCSC is consistently able to deliver training and employment opportunities to the local labour market.

If you are currently representing an individual from Camden or Islington who is keen to start an apprenticeship, find a short course, gain work experience, or gain full time employment within the construction industry, then you may wish to refer them to the Skills Centre via this website.

Please call us on 020 7974 5161 if you are working with a Camden or Islington resident who is interested in registering for advice and guidance.

KXCSC are an accredited test centre for CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).

The CITB Construction Skills Health and Safety environment test (CSCS) is essential to further a candidate's career in construction. This card is required by law for any person wishing to work on a construction site.

The test is an integral part of the construction industry improving health and safety, and environmental standards.

Practice sessions are free.

The CSCS test is £20 (discounted for Camden residents) and £30 for other boroughs.

The card will cost £30 and is payable to CITB, which is separate to us.

Once a candidate has gained their CSCS card they will be given support from the job brokerage and IAG team in looking for suitable employment opportunities.
